What to drink with a burger from a fast-food?
Like most people a few times we go to a fast-food and order at the drive or take-away a burger to eat quietly at home. Yes me too, I plead guilty ;)
These burgers have nothing to do with a homemade burger with a beef steak from your butcher.
The 2 big fast-food chain are of course Mc Donald's and Burger King. I chose for this article to have an pairing with the famous Whopper from Burger King, which is for me one of the fast-food burgers where we have "taste".
The Whopper is a flame-grilled beef top with tomato, letuce, pickles, onion, creamy mayonnaise and a sesame seed bun.
You have to find a wine that can match with the smoked and grilled taste of beef and reduce the sweet sensation of the mayonnaise.
Personally I recommend here a red wine, juicy and fruity with a soft structure like a Vernatsch from Alto-Adige in Italy, Freisinger from Cantina Tramin.
Few words about the wine ;
Well-know for his white wines, especially Gewurztraminer, the Alto-Adige with his beautiful mountain landscape produce exquisite and authentic red wines like Lagrein, Pinot Nero and Vernatsch.
