#2 Mango Sticky Rice & Thai wine

Today I will speak about a typical Thai dessert based of fresh Mango, sticky Rice and Coconut milk ;

Mango Sticky Rice

I love this dessert for the balance between the fresh texture of the mango, the chewy texture of the rice, the crunchy of the yellow mung beans and the sweetness of the coconut milk.

Here I recommend a surprising  late harvest from Khao Yai in Thailand.

The cuvée "Bussaba" from GranMonte devellope exotic fruits and mango aromas, with a refreshing and natural sweet finish.

This wine is a blend of three different grapes varieties; Chenin Blanc, Semillion and Muscat with very low alcool content due to the short time of fermentatin.

Tips : Try to find a wine with the same aromatic as the dish.

Few words about the wine ;

Created in 1999, GranMonte Winery in Khao Yai from the north-east of Thailand.

Here the Lohitnavy family manages this surprising estate. The daughter Nikki studied oenology in Australia and takes care of the viticulture and the winemaking with a lot of talent.

The Khao Yai region has proven suitable for growing grapes like Syrah, Durif, Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds and Chenin Blanc, Verdelho, Viognier, Semillion and Muscat for the whites.

The cuvées made from Syrah are incredible, very close to a St-Joseph or a Crozes-Hermitage.

At 2:30 driving from Bangkok, do not hesitate to visit the winery, all is well organized with a vineyard tour, tasting room, restaurant and cottage.
